Path

As I stepped out of work yesterday, I noticed a lot of my friends posting pictures on instagram in regard to a new application called Path. I downloaded the application and let me curiosity get the best of me. As if social networking couldn't get any more personal, Path combines Foursquare,Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr with a twist. It gets even more personal with the ability to post what music you are currently listening to and even to the extent of when you sleep and wake up. It has a timer which determines how long you sleep. This is a new evolution of social networking that revolves around an individuals life 24/7. Skeptical? The good part is, its used for personal friends and family only to keep in touch as well as keep a journal of your "path's" together. The basic newsfeed is a timeline of yourself and your friends combined. I personally like the concept and will demo the application for a month or so before permanently becoming a member. This application honestly highlights how much people today resemble cyborgs. Our lives are constantly posted and tweeted and privacy is transparent. It's an interesting technologial world and as time goes on, we only get sucked deeper in. Enjoy and share your feedback :)

The Privacy Of Facebook

Last night, I recieved two emails in regard to a password recovery request. I have not touched Facebook in a few weeks and I had made sure the account was deactivated. To ensure my safety, I deleted my account. Now Facebook tries as hard as they can to keep you a loyal member, so they make it as hard as possible to delete your account. I had to Google how to delete it because Facebook hides the feature well. After entering the code and my password a final time, Facebook said my account will be deleted in 14 days and will be deactivated until then. I feel very violated and confused as to why the process is so difficult and long. It should be as easy as a click of a button. Either way, I gave up on Facebook and moved to Google plus which is a more secure and easier social networking site to navigate. Be safe and dont share anything personal on the internet.

Monday Morning 7.23.12

I know I haven't been up to date on here, but its because I spent a weekend away from technology and simply enjoyed myself with my family. I saw The Dark Knight Rises twice this weekend and spent a night in the city. I loved the movie and offer my help to those families in Aurora,Colorado. It saddens me how a perfectly normal American pastime can be turned in to a massacre just because of an individual. I will always remember them time after time as I watch the movie again.

Overall, I have been thinking about new posts and would love it of you could offer your opinions on anything. I will start off with a new blog post tomorrow and have a wonderful week!

The Legend Ends Tonight!

After a month and a half of anxiety and excitement, the day is here! Tonight, The Dark Knight Rises releases as the end of the Batman Trilogy. I have always been a huge fan of batman since I was a child and he was always my favorite hero. He has a dark more realistic feel to his life unlike all the other superheros. I absolutely enjoy every batman series on television as well as the movies Christoper Nolan directed. I couldn't ask for a more perfect plot and idea. I will post a review of the movie tomorrow and tell you what I think. Until then, enjoy the movie and see you in gotham city :)

Music Is My Savior

If you haven't noticed by now, my life revolves around four major things; technology, basketball, love and music! Even before I was born, my mom used to watch MTV and I would kick her stomach to the beat of "Don't Speak" by No Doubt. I have always had a passion for music. I grew up listening to Will Smith's "Welcome To Miami" to Kenny G. I acquired a diverse taste for music from my mom and have given music a steady place in my life. I listen to all genres of music and listen to certain music to match my moods and emotions. For example, I listen to soft r&b as I close my eyes before I sleep to rest my mind, but I play rock and hip hop at the gym to pump my blood and give me the motivation to run the extra mile. Even during my daily commute, I have my ipod in hand and look out the window as my music paints the perfect picture of life for me. Music adds a soundtrack to life and makes life more enjoyable in my opinion. It allows me to express my current feelings without saying a word. I relate to lyrics and beats which is easier and more soothing. I am always open to listening to new genres and artists as well as expanding my never ending Itunes library. Music is one thing I will never let go of forever and it helps me live life every single day. What kind of music do you listen to? Feel free to share your favorite music with me and look out for my song of the week every friday! :)

A Cruel World

Chicago teens charged in fatal beating posted on Facebook
After reading this article, I find myself questioning morality and people in general. How can young teenagers brutally attack an old man for money, let alone record it and share it on Facebook? What has society come to? The poor old man supported a family of 12 and was in an alley for the sole purpose of collecting cans for money. He had a work disability which kept him from working a stable job. First of all, stealing is a bad enough crime, but brutally attacking an old man and on top of it recording it for pure amusement just kills my heart and hope for a better world. It's people like that who keep this world far from a utopia and they deserve more than just a jail sentence. This happens every single day, maybe you will help support morality as well as stop future issues if seen. This story is a heartbreaker and I had to post it because it portrays one of the many examples of how disgusting our society has become.
