My Sneaker Addiction

One of my favorite hobbies is collecting, specifically sneakers. I have always had a passion for collecting sneaker ever since I was younger. In third grade, I had a pair of limited edition Nike Prestos. They were bright yellow and had the convenience of a zipper pocket for my laces. I remember matching my clothing to them and impressing my friends at school. My collection grew slowly and allowed me to fully appreciate each and every sneaker my parents had bought for me.

Over the years, I established a system to categorize my sneakers by type. I have specific sneakers for only basketball use, some for going out purposes and a few for casual wear. I don't follow sneaker trends as closely as other collectors and my collection grows slowly as a result of my pickiness. I visit sneaker stores at least once bi-weekly and typically end up leaving empty handed. I try to find sneakers that are unique and stand out. I always try new brand names and find sneakers that match my personality. For example, I have a pair of red and black Nike Dunks which are my favorite out of my collection. These sneakers are comfortable, casual and unique just as my personality is. I believe that sneakers are the first thing people notice after looking at your eyes. They define an individual's entire outfit and also help other sneaker collectors stand out as well.

As an addition to my sneaker collection, I also collect shot glasses from every place I visit, hats and snapbacks, watches and unique toys. I think starting and growing a collection is a fun way to spend time as well as serve as a conversation starter. From experience, I have met many friends and individuals due to my sneakers or hats. It allows you to meet people without the risk of awkwardness and maybe even meet people with similar interests. For photos of my collection, feel free to visit my instagram on the right-hand side of my blog and please share your own collections of sneakers or anything else. Thank you and happy collecting!
