As I stepped out of work yesterday, I noticed a lot of my friends posting pictures on instagram in regard to a new application called Path. I downloaded the application and let me curiosity get the best of me. As if social networking couldn't get any more personal, Path combines Foursquare,Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr with a twist. It gets even more personal with the ability to post what music you are currently listening to and even to the extent of when you sleep and wake up. It has a timer which determines how long you sleep. This is a new evolution of social networking that revolves around an individuals life 24/7. Skeptical? The good part is, its used for personal friends and family only to keep in touch as well as keep a journal of your "path's" together. The basic newsfeed is a timeline of yourself and your friends combined. I personally like the concept and will demo the application for a month or so before permanently becoming a member. This application honestly highlights how much people today resemble cyborgs. Our lives are constantly posted and tweeted and privacy is transparent. It's an interesting technologial world and as time goes on, we only get sucked deeper in. Enjoy and share your feedback :)

A Cruel World
Chicago teens charged in fatal beating posted on Facebook
After reading this article, I find myself questioning morality and people in general. How can young teenagers brutally attack an old man for money, let alone record it and share it on Facebook? What has society come to? The poor old man supported a family of 12 and was in an alley for the sole purpose of collecting cans for money. He had a work disability which kept him from working a stable job. First of all, stealing is a bad enough crime, but brutally attacking an old man and on top of it recording it for pure amusement just kills my heart and hope for a better world. It's people like that who keep this world far from a utopia and they deserve more than just a jail sentence. This happens every single day, maybe you will help support morality as well as stop future issues if seen. This story is a heartbreaker and I had to post it because it portrays one of the many examples of how disgusting our society has become.
